As a key component in fuel dispensers, petrol pumps, and refueling machines, gear pumps require regular maintenance to ensure long-term reliability and performance. At Eaglestar, we emphasize that proper upkeep of gear pump systems is essential for smooth and efficient operation in gas pump applications.

Routine maintenance not only extends the service life of the pump but also helps maintain safety and accuracy during refueling operations. Here are the core aspects of gear pump daily care:

Cleaning the Relief Valve

If the valve core is contaminated or blocked, it may cause abnormal pressure rise or loss, affecting fuel suction. Gently clean the relief valve using a soft cloth and gasoline.

Adjusting the Relief Valve

  • Loosen the acorn nut and lock nut.
  • Turn the adjusting screw: clockwise to increase pressure, counterclockwise to decrease.
  • One full turn changes pressure by approx. 10kPa.
  • Always stop the pump during adjustment and avoid over-tightening.
  • Note: Eaglestar gear pumps are pre-set optimally at the factory; adjustment is only needed when increasing flow with clear inlet/outlet.

Cleaning the Filter Screen

  • Remove the filter cover and clean the screen and inner cavity with gasoline.
  • Inspect the sealing gasket for damage before reassembly.
  • Clean weekly for the first 1-3 months, then bi-weekly.

Eaglestar gear pumps are designed for durability with minimal need for replacement parts. Consistent maintenance ensures your fuel dispenser equipment remains efficient and reliable.
