Cleaning the Relief Valve
If the valve core is contaminated or blocked, it may cause abnormal pressure rise or loss, affecting fuel suction. Gently clean the relief valve using a soft cloth and gasoline.
Adjusting the Relief Valve
- Loosen the acorn nut and lock nut.
- Turn the adjusting screw: clockwise to increase pressure, counterclockwise to decrease.
- One full turn changes pressure by approx. 10kPa.
- Always stop the pump during adjustment and avoid over-tightening.
- Note: Eaglestar gear pumps are pre-set optimally at the factory; adjustment is only needed when increasing flow with clear inlet/outlet.
Cleaning the Filter Screen
- Remove the filter cover and clean the screen and inner cavity with gasoline.
- Inspect the sealing gasket for damage before reassembly.
- Clean weekly for the first 1-3 months, then bi-weekly.
