Proper maintenance of fuel dispenser nozzles is essential to ensure operational reliability, extend service life, and prevent fuel leakage. Fuel nozzles are frequently used components in fuel dispensers and vehicle-mounted refueling units, and they require regular attention. Below are key maintenance practices to keep fuel nozzles in optimal condition.

- Lubricate the Nozzle Actuator Rod Regularly

To ensure smooth operation and reduce mechanical wear, the actuator rod (top rod) of the fuel nozzle should be lubricated regularly. Applying a small amount of lubricating oil helps prevent friction-related damage and ensures the nozzle functions reliably over time.
- Inspect and Replace Sealing Components

It is important to regularly check the O-rings located below the actuator rod, as well as the steel ball, self-sealing rod, and switch diaphragm of the automatic shut-off nozzle. If these components show signs of wear or malfunction, they should be repaired or replaced promptly to maintain sealing integrity and fuel delivery accuracy.
- Avoid Improper Handling During Refueling

During use, avoid striking the fuel container with the nozzle or using the nozzle pipe to press switches or other surfaces. Improper handling can damage the base of the refueling hose, leading to fuel leaks or complete disconnection. Train operators to handle the nozzle gently and correctly to prevent such issues.
- Periodically Tighten the Hose Connections

For vehicle-mounted fuel dispensers, it is recommended to periodically inspect and tighten the screws on the fuel nozzle's refueling hose. Vibrations during transport or regular use can gradually loosen connections, increasing the risk of leaks or hose detachment.
